A great-looking backtest is easy to publish and easy to believe. We put a strategy through seven stress tests and a source-code integrity scan — and tell you, in plain language, whether the edge is real.
Why bother
A long-only strategy on an asset that climbed for years looks brilliant — until the trend stops. Strip the rise and there's nothing left.
A single look-ahead data request lets a backtest act on prices that hadn't happened yet. The results are spectacular and completely unrepeatable in real time.
Clean code, real trades — and a profit factor barely above breakeven that any realistic spread or commission wipes out.
The audit
We take the strategy's own list of trades — and, for open-source scripts, its Pine source — and run both through the same battery, then translate the results into language a trader can act on.
The source scan is the part no statistic can replace: look-ahead and repainting hide in the code, not in the trade list, so every trade-based test can pass while the whole backtest is fiction. We read the code, and we verify it's the code that actually produced your trades.
The deliverable
See it in action
A 70% win rate and a seven-figure profit — that turned out to be Bitcoin's rise plus zero fees. It captured under a fifth of simply holding BTC, for the same 88% drawdown.
Read the report →A profit factor of 13.7 and a 0.75% drawdown — manufactured by a single look-ahead data request in the code. The battery scored it "robust"; reading the source is what caught the lie.
Read the report →Verifiably honest, clean code — and still no edge: a breakeven profit factor over nine years and a drawdown large enough to blow the account. Clean and real aren't the same as profitable.
